Dear members, colleagues and others with interest,

On Tuesday May 4th, 2021, UKK will hold its annual meeting. The meeting will be online and take place from 5-7pm on zoom.

UKK is an independent, professional organisation that works for democracy, sustainability and equality within the contemporary art field. At the annual meeting, UKK’s board members will present our focus areas and goals. We will also vote on proposals for amendments to the articles of association, approve the budget, and vote for new and re-elected members on the board. The annual meeting is open to everyone, but only UKK members can vote.

To register for the annual meeting, please email info@ukk.dk at the latest May 4th at 12pm. Write “Registration” in the subject field, your name, and whether you are a member or non-member. Prior to the meeting, you will receive a meeting link, the agenda and the appendices.

If you are a member of UKK and do not have the opportunity to participate in the meeting, you still have the opportunity to vote on who you think should be re-elected / elected to the board. Send an email to the same address with “Vote” in the subject field at the latest May 4th at 12pm. Then we will send additional information and a link to vote online.

We are in a positive situation that almost everyone from the board wants to continue the work, so therefore some of UKK’s board members will stand for re-election. If you want to run for the board as a new member, please send us a short statement of motivation. Read more below.

If UKK members have an issue or concern to add to the agenda – it can be a topic or a question you would like to bring up – please send us an email in relation to your agenda item no later than April 22 to info@ukk.dk.

If the weather and the Covid-19 guidelines allow for it, we will invite you for a glass of wine in Nørrebroparken in Copenhagen after the meeting.

We are looking forward to seeing you!

Many greetings,
UKK’s board

APPOINTMENT TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Are you interested in working for democracy, sustainability, and equality for artists, curators and art mediators within the art field? Are you interested in helping shape the art sector, contributing to research, and working closely with other artists and curators? Then we will encourage you to run for UKK’s board.

Qualified board members have a high motivation to contribute to UKK’s goals and a great interest in the development of the organisation. You can apply if you have completed an art education and / or have a practice either as a visual artist, curator or art mediator. The post is for a 2-year period, beginning August 2021. You can run for the board without having a membership, if you sign up for a membership afterwards. It is allowed to be a UKK board member if you sit on other art related boards, but it is required to notify UKK of this in your application.

UKK’s board meetings are held approximately once a month. Current projects, inquiries, collaborations and other issues are discussed within UKK’s meetings. UKK’s work is also discussed on an ongoing basis via email, in working groups, and in joint discussions. As a board member, you will have an important role in defining UKK’s future agenda, possibilities, and policy. The work is primarily voluntarily and occasionally project-honored.

If you are interested in becoming part of the board, please send a short statement of motivation (maximum ½ – 1 page A4) by 22 April. Please include what key issues, problems, or dilemmas you see facing the art sector and what visions, ideas, or solutions you would like to work toward in relation to your experiences, interests, skill sets, and curiosities. Send your motivation to UKK at info@ukk.dk.

The motivational texts are shared before the vote by email with UKK members. The results of the election will be notified immediately after the vote. We can not guarantee that everyone who applies will get a seat on the board.

The board currently has the maximum number of student representatives, but if you are a student and would like to be part of UKK’s student group, you are very welcome to send an email to apply. For additional details, contact ukkstuderende@gmail.com.
